The Cleveland State Cougar baseball team went to Roane State and picked up a sweep in their double header.
Cleveland State (23-19, 13-11) took game one 5-2 and shut out the Raiders 5-0 in game two.
Braden Suggs (2-2) pitched the first five innings earning the victory allowing two earned runs on six hits while striking out a batter and walking four. Tyler Pickens threw an inning in relief walking a batter and Eric Enerlich picked up his fifth save of the season pitching the final inning striking out a batter.
Designated hitter Ty Denton went 2-2 hitting a triple, driving in a run and scoring another.
Second baseman Brogan Jones was 2-4 scoring twice with an R.B.I.
Starter JC Armour (2-0) picked up the win in game two pitching three innings allowing a hit while striking out three and walking one. The Cougars bullpen allowed two hits while striking out six and not walking a batter to close out the Raiders (22-21, 8-13).
Third baseman Evan Goins led the way offensively going 3-4 driving in three runs, while Jones matched him at 3-4 at the plate while scoring two more and driving in a run.
Cleveland travels to Chattanooga State (27-18, 14-9) on Tuesday for their next game with first pitch scheduled for 1 p.m.
