Jeanette Godwin Frederick, 87, died on April 25, 2025, in Long Beach, Mississippi, at her daughter’s residence.

She lived in Chattanooga her entire life except for the short period in Mississippi. She was born Feb. 16, 1938, in Marshall County, Al., to the late Horton A. and Idabelle Godwin. She was a beautician with Lookout Mountain Salon for many years.

Her interests were primarily spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed dog sitting for family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Jerry E. Geer, her second husband, Harold H. Frederick, her in-laws, John and Fannie Frederick and Houston and Jo Gus Geer, her brother, Arnold D. Godwin, her stepson in-law, Chris Crawford, and her grandson-in-law, Jason Langston.

Left behind to cherish her memory is her daughter, Deborah Huddleston (Ty), stepsister, Lisa Crawford, brothers, Jack Godwin and Ric Godwin (Karen), her sister-in-law, Faye Godwin, grandchildren, Kelsey Langston and Megan Tyburski (Reid), great-grandchildren, Lynlee Langston, Ainslee Billingsley, Eli Langston, Evalina Tyburski many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends.

A Celebration of Jeanette’s Life will be held graveside in the Chattanooga National Cemetery on Monday, June 2, at 1 p.m.
