Margarine Gordon Ramsey
Margarine Gordon Ramsey, 94, of Chattanooga, passed away Monday, August 11, 2025, in a local hospital.
Margarine graduated from Howard High School, class of 1949. She furthered her education by graduating from Chattanooga State. She was a faithful member of East 3rd Street Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Joseph "Joe" Ramsey; father, James Gordon; mother, Mary Hall Gordon; grandparents, Frank and Savanah Hall, who helped raised her and her siblings after the death of their mother; brothers, James "Sonny Boy" Gordon Jr., Benjamin Gordon, Leonard Boykins, Harold Jackson, Edward Jackson, and Sammy Jackson; sisters, Margaruth Hammonds, Martha Ann Ross, and Linda Gordon; niece, Carla Gordon; along with several nieces and nephews.
Survivors include a loving niece and her caretaker, Lynn A. Mears, and her beloved pet baby, "Princess"; brother, James Lee (Katrina) Gordon; sister, Suzanne (Desmond) Celestine; caring niece, Cynthia Smartt as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends for whom she cared deeply.
Margarine will be laid to rest in Lakewood Memory Gardens, East.
