Linda Coleman Woodall
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Linda Coleman Woodall. Linda was born on November 1,1944 and passed on August 16, 2025.
It is a challenge to describe Linda as she was so many things to the many people who loved her. She was a true Episcopalian who was deeply spiritual with an open mind welcoming of diversity. Linda was a life-long learner. She was so interesting because of her profound curiosity and diverse interests. Linda was the consummate hostess and created a beautiful home full of art, music, good food and lots of laughter.
Linda was an art dealer specializing in Russian art as well as representing several top local artists (who were also her dear friends) such as Mary Ferris Kelly, Daud and Timur Akriev, and Melissa Hefferlin. One of her proudest accomplishments was completing her yoga teacher training at the cut-off age of 69. Her yoga class became like a second family to her. Linda took classes many years ago at Ballet Tennessee and was very supportive of their endeavors. Wednesday night jazz at Barking Legs and her beloved Stone Soup group were some of her latest passions. She was also an avid hiker and treasured her time with her hiking group, the Trilliums.
Linda was predeceased by her devoted husband, John M. Woodall, and her beloved son, Jay Woodall. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, daughter and son-in-law, Melissa and Michael Curtis of Lookout Mountain, TN, grandchildren Kat Curtis of Chattanooga, Jack Curtis of San Francisco, Isabella and Maddy Woodall of Atlanta, and daughter-in-law Dawn Gonzalez Woodall of Atlanta. She also leaves behind her adoptive French family Isabelle and Serge Zebourian of Paris, France and Melodie and Pierre Dewever of Calvi, Corsica, special friends Randy Elmore and Juanita del Pino both of Ooltewah, TN as well as several nieces, nephews, and wonderful life-long friends.
Services to celebrate Linda’s life will be held at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church on Monday, Aug. 25, at 10 a.m. with a visitation and reception to follow. Feel free to wear bright colors if you are so moved to celebrate Linda’s bright light and zest for life. Memorials may be directed to any of the following: Chattanooga Ballet, Hunter Museum of Art, Chattanooga Symphony or the Chattanooga Food Bank.
