Newly-Merged Smart Hire/Southern Temp Has Grand Opening

  • Monday, December 29, 2003

Two local employment agencies, SmartHire and Southern Temp, have recently merged and are celebrating their grand opening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Thursday, January 8, at 5:30 p.m.

SmartHire/SouthernTemp is located in 2,500 square feet of office space at 701 Cherokee Blvd., Suite A.

SmartHire/SouthernTemp is a full-service human resource company that provides staffing, professional placement, internet-based pre-employment testing (for those employers who desire to do their own recruiting and hiring), and full-spectrum human resources and consulting services.

Owner Kary Klein said, "While employers are able to obtain these services through a variety of other companies, Smart Hire/Southern Temp is Chattanooga's first full-service human resource solution provider. We have built our reputation by thinking "outside the box" and have demonstrated success in reducing turnover for companies who had given up hope! We intend to offer Chattanooga the same services that have allowed us to save thousand's of dollars in turnover costs for Knoxville employers."

The agency's staffing services provide employees for call centers, clerical, accounting, and light industrial work. Sales, information technology and management are focal points for professional placement. Validated pre-employment testing is internet based and available by the test or by the hire for employers who hire but have no way to quantify their candidates' skills.

SmartHire/SouthernTemp is open Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. and can be reached at 423-266-8367.
