CIBO!!

We recently made our first visit to Cibo! And I’m sure it won’t be our last. Cibo! is located at 850 Market Street at Miller Plaza.

The food and atmosphere are definitely better that the previous tenant at this location. For starters, we found the servers much more personable and friendly, as well as more helpful with suggestions regarding the menu.

We had a terrific meal at Cibo! The restaurant has a classy feel and look with all the black decor and the cone-shaped lights on the walls, along with the pendant lights from the ceiling. The bread server, filled with bread from Niedlov's, is also cone-shaped and is placed in a stand on your table. Due to the fact that it stands up, it takes up less of your table than the larger baskets.

The decision was extremely difficult since there were so many interesting items on the menu. We both decided to start with a Spinach Salad ($4.95) with pancetta ham, goat cheese, walnuts, cranberries and lemon vinaigrette. These are served in bowls that are higher on one side - a great idea, making it easier to get the last bits of your salad, which was fresh, crisp and delicious.

I selected my entree from the fresh Seafood ($15.95) menu. You make a selection from the Seafood Selections, one from the Sauce list and one from the accompaniments list. I ordered the Sautéed Trout, Mustard-Dill Beurre Blanc Sauce, and Asparagus with Lemon Crumbs. The sauce was an excellent accompaniment to the trout - it seemed to add a whole new dimension to trout.

Wayne ordered the Lobster and Shrimp Pasta ($16.95). This consisted of Maine Lobster Meat and Bay Shrimp in a rich cognac cream sauce with artichoke hearts and scallions over linguini. This was full of large chunks of lobster, which Wayne found to be extremely tasty. The serving was quite large and he ended up taking a box home.

For dessert I ordered the Crème Brulee and Wayne ordered the Tiramisu. They were both good, but I am one of those people that prefer my Crème Brulee on the warm side and this one was cold except for the caramelized topping.

Cibo! - definitely a place we would recommend to visitors to our site.
