John Tommy Eller, Sr., 64, of East Ridge, died on Wednesday, January 17, 2007 in a local hospital.
He was a member of Temple Baptist Church, Chairman of the Deacon Body and a member and assistant teacher of the Believers Sunday School Class. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army serving as a medic in the Cloverleaf Division.
Tommy was preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Winnie Eller; one sister, Juanita Goulds; an infant brother and a niece.
He is survived by his wife, Pat Eller; three sons, John Tommy Eller, Jr. and his wife, Kim of Atlanta, Ga., Joshua Paul Eller and his wife, Denise, Flintstone, Ga., and Joel Barrett Eller, East Ridge, Tn.; two grandchildren, John Tommy Eller, III and Ashley Eller; four brothers, Colon and Susie Eller, Homer and Patsy Eller, Jerry and Shirley Eller and Larry and Cathy Eller, all of North Carolina; four sisters, Rita and Burl Faw, Velma and Ralph Edmiston and Dean and Joe Eller, all of North Carolina and Betty Masterson of California; mother-in-law, Pauline Torrence of East Ridge, Tn.,; several nieces and nephews; extended family, Bruce Dyer and David and Linda Congdon.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday at Temple Baptist Church with the Rev. Ken Trivette and the Rev. Wayne Fain officiating. Burial will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery at 10 a.m. on Monday. Pallbearers will be the deacons of Temple Baptist Church.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Saturday at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 404 South Moore Road.
