Larry Murrel Thurman, 63, of Dandridge, Tn., formerly of Hixson, died on Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2008.
Mr. Thurman owned Ridgeline Steel Co. and World Wide Sheet Metal HVAC. He was also a General Contractor for 35 years having built over 90 churches in Georgia, Alabama and Tennessee. He pastored the Harvest Time Full Gospel Ministries Church in Greenville, Tn., was a Constable for Jefferson County for 16 years and served as Reserve Deputy for Jefferson County. He attended Walters State College in Morristown, Tn.
His father, Willard Thurman and brother, Gerald Thurman, preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife, Jill Kennedy Thurman; mother, Edna Thurman; son, Nathan Thurman and his fiancée, Christen Wise; daughter, Darlene (Scott) Roach; stepchildren, Sherry (Auburn) Longley, Lebron (Kim) Hunt, Tommy (Kristy) Hunt; brothers, Quillen Thurman, Les Thurman; sister, Jean Taylor; five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, at Williamson & Sons Funeral Home with Pastor Charles Babb Jr. officiating.
The interment will be at 1 p.m. on Friday at Winnie Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. on Thursday.
Pallbearers will be Auburn Longley, Scott Roach, Shane Thurman, Aaron Thurman, Marty Thurman and Chuck Thurman.
