Brainerd 2-1 In Pool Play; Moves To Bahamas Semifinals

FREEPORT, Bahamas -- Brainerd High School lost to Pinewood Prep on Friday and finished pool play 2-1 in the Tabernacle Baptist Academy Thanksgiving Basketball Tournament.

Pinewood Prep, from Charleston, S.C., defeated Brainerd, 46-43.

Brainerd will play Saturday at 10 a.m. against Columbia (Atlanta, Ga.) in a semifinal.

The Panthers will then play for third/fourth at 7 p.m. or in the championship game at 8:30 Saturday.

Fred Sturdivant once again paced Brainerd, scoring 17 points, grabbing 12 rebounds and blocking eight shots.

Jermaine Williams added 12 points and 10 rebounds for the Panthers.
