The Chattanooga Mocs women’s soccer team hits the road to take on Alabama Sunday evening in Tuscaloosa.
Chattanooga is 1-8-1 all-time against Alabama. In 2004, Diana Jallo scored both goals in a 2-1 win over the Tide on the road in Tuscaloosa. In 2019, UTC earned a double overtime draw at home. Samantha Shaw drove home the equalizer in the 78th minute to force extra time and Abbey Saddler tallied three saves in overtime to preserve the tie. Alabama has won six of the last seven meetings including the last two.
Alabama came away with a 4-0 win over the Mocs in Chattanooga’s home opener in 2024. The Tide scored twice in the first half and added two more in the second. The Mocs got off eight shots and made six saves in the match. Caroline Richvalsky led the Mocs with two shots. Caroline Ekern recorded six stops including a diving save late in the second half.
The Mocs opened the 2025 season with a 4-0 win over Winthrop in the first meeting between the two programs. In the space of four minutes in the first half, Paige Thomas and Caroline Richvalsky scored on breakaways and gave the Mocs a 2-0 halftime lead. Zoey Mize added a goal in the 62nd minute and freshman Ayden Wood made her debut with her first collegiate goal off the bench. The Mocs defense kept the Eagles on their heels allowing just six shots to the Mocs 19 and one shot on goal saved by Caroline Ekern.
The Crimson Tide opened the season on the road with a 6-2 win over Louisiana Tech. Six different players found the net and outshot the Bulldogs 25-9 with a 13-3 shots on goal advantage. Alabama tallied one save.
