Alfred Gracy, 70, of Fort Oglethorpe, died on Sunday, April 20, 2008, at his residence.
He was born in Ringgold, a son of the late Austin and Cora Meek Gracy. Mr. Gracy was a graduate of the Ringgold High School and had been employed with Consolidated Latex and Combustion Engineering. Mr. Gracy was retired from Pilot Freight Lines. He was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church and attended Burning Bush Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife of almost 50 years, Charlotte Gracy; sister, Viola Gracy Kilgore; brother, Robert Gracy, and nephew, Randy Benton.
He is survived by his son, Michael Gracy, Australia; daughter, Cheryl Gracy, Madison, Tn; grandchildren, David Richardson, Nashville, Tn., Hannah Richardson, Smithville, Tn., and Rachel Gracy, Madison, Tn; great-grandson, Justin Richardson, Smithville, Tn; sisters, Reba (Ronald) Massingale, Ringgold, Roba (Paul) Benton, Ringgold; aunt, Marie Meek Saylors, several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. on Sunday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Dennis McNulty and Colin Crosen officiating. Interment will be in the Burning Bush Cemetery.
