Walker Valley High School Student Dies In Wreck

A 17-year-old Walker Valley High School student died in a car wreck on Thursday afternoon.

The Bradley County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Unit is continuing its investigation of the fatal accident on Candies Creek Ridge Road around 4 p.m.

A rear-seat passenger in the vehicle, Daniel Casias, 17, died shortly after the accident.

The driver, Brandon Vest, 16, and front-seat passenger, Jean Croft, 15, were injured and received treatment at Skyridge Medical Center. Both were released later from the emergency room.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation. It appears the vehicle ran off of the right side of the road in a slight curve and struck a wood fence, authorities said.

All three occupants of the vehicle attended Walker Valley High School.
