Lacey Alford, a senior at East Tennessee State University, is crowned Miss Metropolitan 2010 Sunday afternoon at Chattanooga State by Miss City Lights 2009 Kayla Hockett. The 22-year-old from Seymour won overall swimsuit and sang "Via Dolorosa" in the talent segment. Miss Alford's community service platform is "Shattered Dreams" in memory of her grandfather, who was killed by a drunk drive in 2003. An Interior Design major, she plans to obtain a Master's in Architecture and eventually start her own firm.

Ivy DePew, a sophomore at the University of Memphis, was selected as Miss City Lights 2010 at the finale of the Scenic City Pageants Sunday at Chattanooga State. Miss DePew played the "Carousel of Venice" on the flute in winning her second consecutive local title after serving as Miss Chattanooga 2009. She will be one of the six women representing the Chattanooga area at the 2010 Miss Tennessee Pageant next June in Jackson.

The six new titleholders will have the opportunity to succeed Soddy-Daisy's Miss Wittler at next June's Miss Tennessee Pageant in Jackson. Misses Mazzio, Schwab, Alford and DePew will be making return trips to the state event while it will be the first appearance for Misses Kendall and Stegeman. Miss Kendall won Overall Talent, Miss Schwab Overall Interview, Miss Alford Overall Swimsuit and Miss Mazzio Overall Evening Gown. Each of the women will receive a $500 scholarship. Fifteen women competed for the six titles.

Nicole Mazzio, a recent graduate of Middle Tennessee State University, was selected as Miss Chattanooga 2010 at Sunday's conclusion of the Scenic City Pageants. Miss Mazzio sang the popular Miley Cyrus tune "The Climb" and won overall Evening Gown in a borrowed dress after the zipper tore in her original selection. Her community service is devoted to the Make A Wish Foundation and she will be making her second trip to June's Miss Tennessee Pageant

The 18-year-old student at Volunteer State wowed the audience at the C.C. Bond Auditorium with her vocal rendition of "And I Am Telling You" from the musical Dreamgirls to win overall talent. Miss Kendall was one of six women to win the area titles for next June's Miss Tennessee Pageant.

Miss DePew, who was the outgoing Miss Chattanooga, advanced to the Miss Tennessee Pageant for the second time on Sunday afternoon winning one of the six local titles from a field of 15 contestants. Miss DePew performed the "Carousel of Venice" on the flute. She is a sophomore majoring in Non-Profit Management and works with "Friends for Life" in Memphis, which assists those affected with HIV/AIDS.
