Have you got a fishing boat that you might call a "fixer upper."
Perhaps however you are like me and you're not very good at "fixing upping?"
If that's the case, you might want to check out the newly-opened North River Boat Restoration in Hixson.
Sean McDonald opened North River Boat Restoration, what he calls "a one stop shop for fiberglass and aluminum boat repairs, carpets, upholstery, painting, upgrades, electronics, and custom fiberglass and composite boat parts."
McDonald makes it clear... he doesn’t work on outboards or boat engines, but he offers all other services related to boats.
McDonald is a hardcore angler. He specializes in bass and fishing boats, but he'll work on any water craft.
"With today’s economy more and more people are looking to fix the boat they currently have or buying used boats that need some work," said McDanld. "It can definitely save money over the high cost of a new boat. You can take an older model boat that is structurally solid, with paint, carpets, and new upholstery and have a boat that looks new and save thousands under the cost of a new boat."
McDonald says even boats that have rotted wood can be rebuilt with composite materials in place of the wood frame work, or using new wood covered in epoxy and fiberglass can take that old boat and make it safe again.
North River Boat Restoration is located at 8011 Hixson Pike, Hixson, Tenn.
The telelphone number is 423-475-6609. It's open 6 days a week.
