Hattie Paralee "Polly" Haney, 92, of Bradley County, died on Monday, June 29, 2009 in a Chattanooga hospital.

She was a member of Waterville Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Haney; parents, Samuel and Pearl Shipley; daughter, Frances Casteel; brothers, Herman Shipley, James Shipley, Howard Shipley and Clifford Shipley; and sister, Margie Shipley.

She is survived by grandchildren, Sonya Richmond of Cleveland, Deborah Hefner of Nashville and Angela Eisele of Cleveland; great-grandchildren, Ashley Hefner and Colin Hefner of Nashville and Dakota Wells of Cleveland; son-in-law, Thomas S. Casteel of Cleveland; sisters, Shirley Evans of Athens and Beatrice Shipley of Cleveland; brother, Ralph Clinton Shipley of Cleveland; step-children, Mary Ruth Trew, Pete Haney and Floyd Haney, all of Cleveland; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, July 2, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Reverend Joe Brooks officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens with Terry Shipley, Gary Shipley, Ashley Hefner, Colin Hefner, Michael Evans and Dakota Wells serving as pallbearers. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 1, from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
