Carrie Ezell, Art Thereapist at St. Barnabas
Carrie Ezell, art therapist and assistant activities director at St. Barnabas, will participate in the Bill Holmberg Arts Leadership Institute September 15 – December 1.
Invitation to participants in the Institute’s seven-part series is extended to those demonstrating support for the arts and a commitment to improving the quality of life of community residents. The Institute seeks to advance arts and culture in the Chattanooga community.
Ms. Ezell, who has a master’s degree in art therapy and also directs art therapy groups throughout the Chattanooga area, is a Georgia native who recently returned from Santa Fe, NM through an ArtsMove grant from Chattanooga’s CreateHere program.
In her work at St. Barnabas, Ms. Ezell encourages seniors to discover their artistic side through a variety of media, utilizing art therapy to decrease social isolation and offer connection and support.
In addition, Ms. Ezell performs in-house art therapy with ProFamily of North Georgia. She's also president of the Tennessee Art Therapy Association and operates her own business, Expressive Art Therapy Consulting, from the Business Development Center.
