CBMC’s ‘Operation Timothy’ Offers Way For Fathers To Live Out Their Faith

  • Monday, June 2, 2025

Christian Business Men’s Connection’s Operation Timothy is a free, proven program that connects fathers with dynamic faith, resulting in a genuine, lasting difference for families nationwide.

For more than 50 years, Operation Timothy, a relational disciple-making tool inspired by the relationship Paul had with Timothy, has helped individuals develop a solid foundation for a lifetime of faithfulness to Jesus. That translates into better family relationships, including the roles fathers have in raising their children.

“There has never been a time when a father’s dynamic presence in the family has been more important,” said Joe Beckler, CBMC Vice President, Development, Marketing and Communications. “Time and time again, we’ve seen ‘Operation Timothy’ help fathers translate their faith into effective parenting strategies that make an eternal difference.”

A father’s involvement means children are twice as likely to go to college, 80% less likely to go to jail, and are 75% less likely to experience teen pregnancy, according to statistics from A Father’s Place. But when a father is absent or not engaged, their children are responsible for 71% of high school dropouts, 90% of homeless and runaway children and 63% of youth suicides, the same research indicates.

And a father’s positive impact extends beyond measures of worldly success, experts say. Dads play a vital role in spiritual formation, can foster a child’s independence, and have a transformative effect on children’s development.

But there’s a paradox: many men who could be great fathers lack either the example or the training to accomplish the mission. Enter Operation Timothy andits time-tested discipleship tools. OT offers a clear pathway for meaningful discipleship, having spiritual conversations that impact hearers, and building lasting bonds. It’s accessible anywhere and delivers a clear pathway for meaningful discipleship, having spiritual conversations that impact hearers, and building lasting bonds in the workplace and at home.

This Gospel-centered OT program is fully integrated into the CMBC Advance program, making it accessible at work, home or on a mobile device.

“It’s our privilege to offer the Operation Timothy tools — part of the CMBC Advance app and including three books on Life Questions, Life Foundations and Life Perspectives — that help men find their spiritual focus and orient their lives towards discipleship and leadership at home,” Mr. Beckler said. “We know, because we’ve seen it many times, that OT is a great way to help men in spiritual development.”
