The Union Gospel Mission announces Wayne Hammel as its first program director in over 25 years.
Officials said, "With over 20 years of experience in faith-based outreach, recovery programming and community service, Mr. Hammel brings a deep passion for transformation, compassion and practical leadership to his new role.
"As program director, Mr. Hammel will oversee the development and implementation of UGM’s life-changing programs, which include recovery services, housing, job training and spiritual care for individuals experiencing homelessness and addiction.
His leadership will play a crucial role in expanding the mission’s impact and ensuring that each guest receives holistic support on their journey to healing and stability."

Officials said, "Mr. Hammel previously served as the assistant manager at the Chatt Foundation, formally known as the Community Kitchen, and also served UGM in the past as the assistant program director. His leadership style emphasizes relationship-building, accountability and unwavering faith.
