Phyllis “Pepper” Quinn
Phyllis “Pepper” Quinn, 80, of Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia, entered through the gates of heaven into Jesus’ presence on Tuesday, May 20, 2025.
Pepper was a native of Memphis, was a 1962 graduate of Central High School, and lived most of her life in the Chattanooga and North Georgia area. She was a member of Chattanooga First Church of the Nazarene. Pepper loved to entertain. She was always happy when she was cooking for a full house of family and friends. She was known for her lasagna and baking chocolate coconut pies and tea cakes. Pepper loved her family dearly. She enjoyed the time she spent with her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed shopping, and her favorite time of the year was Christmas because she was able to shop and spend time with those she dearly loved. Pepper will be missed by her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Gene Phillips; and mother, Dot Phillips.
Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Maurice Quinn; three children, Eddie (Lisa) Quinn, Scott (Beth) Quinn, and Michael (Lorrie) Quinn; four sisters, Diane Cochran, Janie Cox, Kay (Raymond) Whittle, and Cheryl Marshall; eight grandchildren, Zach (Aly) Quinn, Derek (Allyssa) Quinn, Dray (Ashley) Holmes, Isaac (Mikayla) Holmes, Andrew (Jessica) Quinn, Laura (Seth) Shropshire, Abby Quinn, and Emma Quinn; six great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 14, at 3 p.m. at Chattanooga First Church of the Nazarene, 5455 North Terrace Chattanooga, Tn. 37411, with Reverend Eric Johnson and Scott Quinn officiating.
The family will receive friends Saturday, June 14, from 1-3 p.m. at the church.
Arrangements are by the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory, Rossville.
