Chattanooga Memorial Day billboards
Over Memorial Day weekend, digital billboards throughout Chattanooga will display the names of 98 locals who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to the United States.
Chattanooga-based Plainview Outdoor is using its digital billboards across Hamilton County to remember the true reason behind Memorial Day—honoring those who lost their lives in service to their country.
The service members’ names were obtained from online veteran databases. Of the 98, 87 of the service members were Hamilton County natives who lost their lives while serving in Vietnam. The billboards also honor service members who lost their lives in Operations Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom, and the 2015 terrorist attack on Chattanooga military facilities.
“Plainview is both humbled and honored to be able to feature the service men and women who have given everything for our country on our digital billboards in Chattanooga this year,” said Plainview Outdoor Advertising COO Josh Plain.
The fallen service members were all current or former Hamilton County residents at the time of their deaths.
The memorial billboards will run Friday through Memorial Day.
