The first of four plays in Lee University's annual theatre season, Samuel Beckett's absurdist comedy/drama Endgame is set to premier at the Edna Minor Conn Theater on Friday at 7:30 p.m.
Sarah Shealy, a Lee senior is directing the Nobel Prize winning play under the supervision of Dr. Christine Williams. The play will also be staged on Saturday, Oct. 9 and 10 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday and Oct. 11 at 2 p.m.
Endgame is considered Beckett's theatrical masterpiece and deals with the idea that beginnings and endings are intertwined.
The title refers to the final moves of a chess game where the outcome is already decided. The characters become like chess pieces as they struggle with change and their illusive end.
Individual tickets for this production are $5. Tickets will be available one hour before curtain time the night of the performance.
For the first time, theatre-goers have the opportunity to purchase a season pass for every production of the Lee University 2009-10 theatre season.
The Edna Minor Conn Theater is located in room 305 of the Vest Building, which is on the corner of Ocoee and 11th street.
