The Tennessee Civil War Sesquicentennial Commission announced the new official Tennessee Civil War 150th Anniversary License Plate. The plate is sponsored by the non-profit partnering organization, Tennessee Civil War Preservation Association.

As part of the Commission’s 150th legacy, proceeds from the plate will help preserve Tennessee Civil War battlefields. A portion of the purchase will go to the home county of each participant to support the Tennessee Civil War Trails program, helping local communities fund signage and provide for ongoing maintenance.

Tennessee Department of Tourist Development Commissioner and Co-chair of the Commission Susan Whitaker noted that by displaying this license plate, “Tennesseans will be able to convey their deep appreciation for our state’s Civil War heritage that touches every county in Tennessee.”

For more information on the license plate or to place an order, visit
www.tcwpa.org.

No payment is required for the preorder. Once 1,000 orders are received, participants will be invoiced. The annual fee is $35.00 for a regular plate; $70.00 for a personalized plate.

Residents are encouraged to participate in the upcoming Inaugural Sesquicentennial Signature Event: The Coming of the Civil War which will take place November 12-13 in Nashville.
