Lobby, Public Spaces Transformed, New Restaurant Features Starbucks Coffee

Courtyard by Marriott Chattanooga Downtown unveiled a new look on Wednesday as guests got a first glimpse at the hotel’s Courtyard Refreshing Business conversion. The nearly $1 million renovation features a completely redesigned lobby space and new restaurant, The Bistro, featuring Starbucks coffee.

“Today’s travelers want more flexibility and a variety of social spaces,” said John McKibbon, chairman of McKibbon Hotel Management, owner and operator of the 128-room hotel. “This transformation will provide our guests with a completely new outlook on the Courtyard brand, and we are delighted to bring this new offering to Downtown Chattanooga.”

The Courtyard dining experience has been updated with The Bistro – Eat. Drink. Connect. The new restaurant offers simple, healthy breakfast and dinner options, as well as brewing Starbucks coffee in a casual environment that has comfortable seating, both indoors and outdoors. An all-new, full-service bar has also been incorporated into the expanded lobby space, featuring beer, wine and mixed drinks, along with dining options.

The open new Courtyard lobby welcomes guests with "vivid contrasting colors." The traditional front desk has been replaced with separate welcome pedestals to create more personal interactions at check-in. Flexible seating options range from public to intimate, semi-enclosed areas, and a new outdoor experience has been added, with a fire pit and outdoor lounging environment.

A signature element of the new lobby is the exclusive GoBoard technology. This 52-inch high-definition LCD invites guests to navigate the touch screen to find directions and information about restaurants and area attractions located near this Downtown Chattanooga hotel. Free wireless Internet access is available throughout the hotel, and guests will find electrical outlets throughout the lobby to power digital devices.

The business library features computer terminals for printing airline boarding passes and checking flight statuses.

Officials said, "In spite of all the changes at the Courtyard Chattanooga Downtown, the one thing that remains the same is the service. The property has been recognized nationally for outstanding guest service scores, and several employees, including General Manager Andrea Anderson, have been honored by the industry as top performers. The hotel team is excited to go 'Live at 5' this Wednesday at 5 p.m."

The Courtyard by Marriott Chattanooga Downtown is located at 200 Chestnut St., blocks from the Tennessee River. For additional information, contact General Manager Andrea Anderson at 755-0871.
