As part of its 50 year anniversary celebration, St. Jude School recognized the importance of the support of parish and school in making education a commitment to excellence. The theme was “Share the Health” – a focus on mind, body and spirit.
A parish-wide blood drive and mammogram mobile were sponsored for the adults, a car seat check was held for all school and parish families, and fifth grade hosted parishioners during a “Fall Prevention” class held after morning Mass.

Highlights of the week included:
- An Opening Parish Mass was celebrated, with representatives of faculty and students presenting the gifts. There are 42 staff members at St. Jude School; eight of whom have graduated from the school. Together they have 53 children who have or currently are attending St. Jude School.
- A special student Mass was celebrated by The Most Reverend Bishop Richard Stika, who later had lunch and visited with students in the various grades.
- In recognition that community goes beyond school and parish, students collected hundreds of personal hygiene items that were then distributed to Catholic Charities, The Home Place and U.S. troops headed to Kuwait.
