New 5 Points Trail To Open Oct. 7 On Lookout Mountain

  • Thursday, September 1, 2011

The new Five Points trail on Lookout Mountain is set to open Friday, Oct. 7, during the RiverRocks Festival.

Bobby Davenport of the Lula Lake Land Trust said, "This 20-mile network of trails completes the second phase of the Cloudland Connector Trail."

He said, "Following the festivities, we will get to work on phase 3, which will take the trail from Ascalon Road to Downtown Cloudland Canyon State Park in 2012."

At that point the Cloudland Connector Trail will link Lula Lake and Falls with the state park in Dade County.

Plans are underway to eventually connect Lula Lake with greenway trails in downtown Chattanooga via the Covenant College campus.
