Lynn Carroll
St. Andrews Center announced that Lynn Carroll has been named as its Arts Academy’s new coordinator.
Ms. Carroll has more than 30 years of experience in teaching art to children and developing art programs, and she taught more than 15 years at McCallie School and in Hamilton County public schools. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Art Education from UTC and has completed additional graduate work at Belmont University.
She is State of Tennessee certified in Visual Art K – 12 and core curriculum K – 8.
St. Andrews Center Executive Director Kristi Strode said, “Ms. Carroll’s love of children and knowledge about developing and maintaining art curriculum are assets for the center and for the children who will study here. It is going to be a fantastic year for this ministry.”
The children will arrive at the center for this after-school ministry on Monday. The Arts Academy is another way St. Andrews Center is fulfilling its mission: promoting spiritual, educational, economic, and social growth for individuals and the community.
The students at the Academy have been referred by their ESL (English as a Second Language) teachers.
"We provide a safe haven for them while providing world-class educational experiences that will also help them to improve their
English-speaking skills," officials said.
