Rossville's Martin Scott Will Not Seek Re-Election To Georgia House; Painter Running

  • Tuesday, January 10, 2012

Rossville's Rep. Martin Scott said he will not seek re-election to his District 2 Georgia House seat.

Instead, the Republican said he will focus on a church he founded in the same building at 412 Market St. where Mosaic Church was formerly located.

He told the Catoosa County News that his River City Church, which was started in 2010, is in no way affiliated with the Mosaic Church.

Alan Painter, 51, of Chattanooga Valley, is the only announced candidate for the seat, which will become District 1 under the redistricting.

The district covers Dade County and portions of western and southern Walker County.
