McCallie Rowers Win State,Region Titles

The McCallie crew team won its third straight Tennessee and region championship this past weekend at the Dogwood Regatta in Oak Ridge.

McCallie winners were the varsity 4, varsity 8, varsity lightweight 4, novice 8 and second novice 4.

The Blue Tornado also finished second in the second varsity 8 and second varsity 4.

Members of the winning varsity 8: Drew Hettenbach, Ellis Harr, Mike Ray, August Wherry, Nick Cousar, Walt Johnston, Fletcher Sims, Ross Weiser and coxswain J.T.

Wu.  The varsity 8 is 30-1 on the season.

Chattanooga Junior Rowers:

The men's double scull, the men's 4 and the women's lightweight 4 all placed second.

Men's Double Scull - Kaleb Bledsoe, Emilio Craddock

Men's Quad - David May, Iain May, Connor May, Quin Nash

Women's Lightweight 4 - Vivian Anderson, Erin Hall, Aubrey Gradin, Ruth Hopkins and coxswain Trinh Keeegan
