Julian Warren Johnson, 88, of East Ridge, Tennessee, died on Saturday, November 1, 2013. 

He was a member of Temple Baptist Church and the Fellowship Sunday School Class. Mr. Johnson was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army in France and Germany. He was a retired manager of Eckerd Drug Stores after over 40 years of service.

He was an avid bowler and golfer and a member of the VFW, American Legion and the Chattanooga Half Century Club. Additionally, he was a big fan of big band music of the 1940’s and Gospel music.

He was preceded in death by his parents, David A. and Ida Mae Warren Johnson and a half brother, Charles Johnson.

Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Betty Johnson and his daughter and son-in-law, Denise (Pat) Hughes of Acworth, Ga.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 5, at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, 404 South Moore Road. Burial will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery with military honors.

The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 4, and from 9:30–10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 5, at the funeral home.
