Troy LaDon “Donny” Pope, 37, of Trion, Georgia, died on Monday, May 27, 2013 at Redmond Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Pope was born April 13, 1976 in Rome, Ga., the son of Troy Wayne Pope and Connie Cothran Pope. He was a 1995 graduate of Chattooga High School. He was formerly employed with Mt. Vernon Mills and was a member of Spring Creek Baptist Church.
Mr. Pope is survived by his mother, Connie Cothran Pope; father, Troy Wayne Pope; companion, Peter J. “P J” Wuilliez; granny, Annie Mae Pope; grandmother, Stella Beard; aunts and uncles, Terry and Jean Pope, Jimmy Pope, Kay Clark, and Tina Wilson; and special cousins, Christine and Tracy Shaw.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, May 30, at Mason Funeral Home with Reverend Jimmy Wilborn and Reverend Chris Holman officiating. Burial will follow in Greenhills Memory Gardens. Active pallbearers will be Tracy Shaw, Terry Pope, Alvin Grogan, P J Wuilliez, Kenny Hollingsworth, and Undra Finley.
Mr. Pope will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 29.
