A group of artists will exhibit their work at the North River Civic Center in Hixson during the months of June, July and August.  The exhibit is called Personal Vision II.

Participating artists include Carol Brooks, Terry Childers, Harriet Chipley, Tom Cory, Valarie Fleming, Patti Frierson, Joe Helseth, Mary Britten Lynch, Denton Ridge, Jenny Shugart, Maggie Vandewalle and Carolyn Wright.

Personal Vision artist Mary B. Lynch stated, “I do not work in any one predictable style, being an artist, for me, is a perpetual renewal.  I am not trying to find my voice, in the work itself, I know who I am.”

Maggie Vandewalle says “I grew up with my nose in books and it was the illustrations in many of those books that made me want to draw and paint.  I remember the pictures as clearly as the stories; they were intertwined in a way that created magic for me.  When I paint, I want to create an atmosphere in which my experiences can unfold in a vibrant and convincing manner.”

"Visitors will be invigorated intellectually and spiritually by this fine art collection,” said director, Linda Rugina.

A  meet and greet reception will be held June 16, from 4-6 p.m.  For more information, contact Ms. Rugina at 870-8924.
