At the weekly meeting on Friday, GPS’s chapter of Amnesty International answered the city of Ferguson, Missouri’s call for a Weekend of Resistance. Amnesty International is a movement of people who organize to fight injustice and promote human rights on a global scale.

Members of the GPS chapter participated on Friday in social media action along with student chapters of Amnesty International across the nation in expressing their solidarity with the movement for rights-respecting policing as well as an end to racial profiling and all forms of discrimination and racial injustice.

The GPS chapter has been involved in many letter writing campaigns and recently hosted Ebony Brickhouse, the Southern Field Organizer for Amnesty International USA.
