MAGI Has Art Exhibit At Gallery 5 At The MACC

Gallery 5 at The Mountain Arts Community Center will host an art exhibition of works by the members of MAGI (Mountain Art Guild) with a gala opening of the show on Friday, Nov. 7, from 5-7 p.m.

The MAGI are a group of painters on Signal Mountain who joined forces over a decade ago at the historic Bachman School to further their painting skills.  Many of the exhibiting artists are members of the Tennessee Watercolor Society and are past award winners in that and other shows around the state. 

Featured will be paintings, mixed media works, drawings, and some sculptural pieces.

Represented will be the work of Sandy Boone, Barbara Bye, Bob Cobb, Mark Cobbe, Coco Dauer, Leslie Dulin, Amanda Farris, Lee Fritch, Emily Godfrey, Larry Guetthoff, Moggie Henry, Robin Howe, Beth Jacobs, Liz Klinefelter, Rena Malone, Geraldine McKay-Seay, John McLean, Suzanne Nichols, Anne Rutledge, Jo Schoolfield, Betty Jo Smith, Barbara Voss and Martha Williams. 

The show will hang in the gallery from Nov. 7-Jan. 5 and may be seen during regular MACC hours, Monday-Thursday, 9 a.m.-7 p.m. and Friday, 9 a.m.-4 p.m.  It will also be open during special events on Dec. 5 “First Friday Gallery Open” from 5-7 p.m. and Dec. 6 “Annual Town Tree Lighting” from 5-7:30 p.m. 

The artists will be at the opening reception.
