A Billion Here, A Trillion There

A billion here, a trillion there, what about it?

The "it" I refer to is the cost of government. Some talk about the debt of $17 trillion and others have said it is $13 trillion.  Now we all have gotten use to money numbers being tossed about like heads of lettuce and with the same emotional attachment.. Where does all this massive dollar amount come from and just what is the debt owed to foreign countries and etc?

I posit this for consideration.. Politicians are not known for candor and so this massive debt is talked about like talking about heads of lettuce. Nobody knows or worse, nobody wants to know, just how long this country, any country, can continue to amass a debt so huge that the sheer number of zeroes makes one go cross-eyed.

The newly elected Congress are made up of fellas that love war and the American Reach. New term, American reach.  Folks, we have a problem and nobody wants to talk about it.

The Koch Brothers,  god love 'em, they do so much for folk. They are urging Speaker of the House John B to reconsider lowering taxes on income of the wealthy, further adding to the debt described above.

Do we have a government for the people or do we have a government for the wealthy?
