Frankie Jean Denton, 69, of Cleveland, TN, passed away Friday, August 22, 2014 in a local health care facility.
Frankie was the daughter of the late Lola Bettis Campbell Johns and Lawrence Campbell; and was also preceded in death by her grandson, Clayton Reno Kesley; and her step-father, Frank Johns.
Frankie was retired from McKee Baking with over 25 years of service. She enjoyed traveling and decorating her husband’s wood working crafts. She was a beautician and she loved to cut hair. She loved people and spending time with her family! Frankie was a member of the Old Fashion Gospel Tabernacle/Living Water Church where she was a very active including singing and playing the piano.
Survivors include her husband of 33 years, Marvin Denton of Cleveland; her sons, Reverend Terry Kesley and his wife Penny of Selmer, TN, Eddie Kesley and his wife Sylvia and Tommy Kelsey all of Cleveland; her step-children, Melvin Denton and his wife Renee of Chattanooga, Brenda Beavers and her husband Larry and Marlene Ownby and her husband Travis all of Cleveland; her grandchildren, Cody Kesley, Zachary Burke, David Denton and his wife Rebecca, Brandon Brown and his wife Kim, Daniel Beavers and his wife Tanika, Curtis Ownby, Brittany Kesley, Chris Denton, Anthony Brown and his wife Lauren, Michelle Kamplain and Andrew Ownby and his wife Shauna; her great-grandchildren, Hailey Denton, Alek Denton, Madison Ownby, Logan Denton, McKenzie Brown, Hunter Ownby and Serenity Cooper; her brothers, Larry Campbell and his wife Joy of Atlanta and Dale Johns and his wife Yvonne of Ooltewah; her half-sisters, Lucy Parrott, Jan Davis, Earlene Knutty and Jean West; and several nieces and nephews.
The Remembrance of Life service will be conducted Tuesday, August 26, at 1 p.m. from the Wildwood Chapel of the Jim Rush Funeral Homes with Reverend Terry Kesley officiating. Interment will follow in the Lee Cemetery in McDonald with Daniel Beavers, Cody Kesley, Curtis Ownby, Andrew Ownby, David Denton, Chris Denton, Brandon Brown and Anthony Brown serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Sunday, August 24 and on Monday, August 25 until 8 p.m. at the Wildwood Chapel of the Jim Rush Funeral Homes who has charge of the arrangements.
