Auditions for The Royal Family are being held on Monday and Tuesday, Nov. 23-24, at 7:30 p.m. at the Chattanooga Theatre Centre.
The comedy, by George S. Kaufman and Edna Ferber, will be directed by Patrick Sweetman and will be presented Feb. 5 - 21, 2016 on the MainStage.
Officials said, "The Royal Family is a thinly veiled, funny and poignant portrait of Broadway's royal family, the Barrymores. Auditions at your CTC are open to everyone, and all ages and ethnicities are encouraged to participate."
Rehearsals start Nov. 30 and are generally held Sunday through Thursday evenings from 7:30-10:30 p.m. Tech week begins Sunday, Jan. 31 through Thursday, Feb. 4.
The production opens on Friday Feb. 5 and plays through Feb. 21. A special Valentine's Day performance is on Sunday, Feb. 14 at 2:30 p.m.
Performances are: Friday and Saturday, Feb. 5-6 at 8 p.m. Thursdays, Feb. 11 and 18 at 7 p.m; Fridays and Saturdays Feb. 12, 13, 19, and 20 at 8 p.m and Sundays, Feb. 14 and 21 at 2:30 p.m.
The cast and crew will strike the set immediately following the final performance on Sunday, Feb. 21. There will be a Ghostlight talkback session following the performance on Friday, Feb. 12.
