Students and community members gather for the “Evening of Worship” service in spring 2015.
Lee University will host its “Come to the Table: An Evening of Worship” service on Sunday, Nov. 22, at 7:30 p.m. in the Conn Center.
A student-led service, it is designed to bring attention and focus to a time of worship and communion for all who attend. Anyone is welcome to participate in worship through music and sharing of the Lord’s Supper.
The theme for the service, “Becoming,” is based on Romans 12:1-2, “Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God – this is your spiritual act of worship. Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is – His good, pleasing, and perfect will.”
“This Evening of Worship is designed for us to celebrate that we have exchanged our brokenness for Christ’s wholeness, symbolized through the action of taking the elements at the Lord’s table and becoming a people of Romans 12,” said Dr. Brad Moffett, director of chapel music at Lee.
