Timothy Harris
Timothy Kit Harris, Sr., 47, of Chattanooga, died on Sunday, November 1, 2015 at his residence.
He was a 1986 graduate of Howard High School. He was a veteran of the United States Army, Infantry Division 11 Bravo. He was employed by Wheland Foundry and Chattanooga Coca-Cola Bottling Company. He was a dedicated member of Olivet Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Anderson and Mary Alice Harris.
Survivors include his wife, Lynda Michelle Varnell Harris; daughter, Jasmine Harris; son, Timothy Harris, Jr.; stepchildren, Laportia Varnell, Kiana Appling, and James Appling, all of Chattanooga; grandchildren, Maurice Varnell and Zanaya McCrobey; siblings, Ezra B. Harris, Jacqueline Holland, Isaac Harris, Nathaniel E. Harris, Sr., Malachi J. (Dolly) Harris, Thomas Knowles, Jr., all of Chattanooga, Maybelline (Robert) Sligh of Atlanta, and Emma Meeks of Nashville; sisters-in-law, Terrilyn (John) Abernathy, Tonya (Tracey) Jones, Rhonda Varnell, Sharon Varnell, and Cynthia Varnell; brothers-in-law, Melvin (Lisa) Varnell, Halbert Varnell, Stephen Varnell, and Kevin Varnell; several nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives; special friend, Emory Hammonds and other friends.
Visitation is on Monday, Nov. 9, from 6-8 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be on Tuesday, Nov. 10, at 1 p.m. at Olivet Baptist Church with Pastor Kevin Adams, Sr. as the eulogist.
Burial will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
