Bowling Green, KY rockers Cage The Elephant played a short set at Grimey’s Record Store in Nashville to kick off the release of their latest record, “Tell Me I’m Pretty.” The ten-track album was officially released on Friday, December 18; however fans were treated to a special intimate performance on Thursday, with the chance of getting the new album the day before the public.
The Black Keys frontman, Dan Auerbach produced the record, which was mostly recorded in Nashville on first takes in the studio. The result is a raw and rocking album that is sure to live up to the name of its talented producer and band.
Lines were long, outside of Grimey’s Record Store waiting to get in out of the cold December air. Inside, in the warmth, the band ran through a couple songs for sound check before the crowd made its way in. The small record shop provided a very intimate setting for fans to get an up-close and personal taste of the new album before it even officially hit the shelves. The band also treated fans with a signing of the album after the in-store performance.
After another sellout show at The Basement East on Saturday, Cage The Elephant will be taking their show on the road to the U.K. and Europe. They’ll return Stateside for Hangout Fest 2016 in Gulf Shores, Al.
