Lady Hurricanes Win, Nelson Earns 700th Career Victory

East Hamilton’s Tori Barnes gave up two first-inning runs and then throttled East Ridge over the next six, the Lady Hurricanes rallied to win, 3-2, Wednesday on Savannah’s game-winning RBI single in the fifth inning and coach Norma Nelson earned her 700th career win.

Barnes went the distance and scattered five hits, struck out two and walked one in posting the victory.

East Ridge’s Alexis Moore also threw a complete game.

She gave up all three runs, five hits, struck out five and walked three while suffering the loss.

Moore doubled in the Lady Pioneers’ first inning and scored on a double by Morgan Mantieth. The second run came across on a fielder’s choice.
