Rickey Lynn Whaley, 61, of Dalton, GA, died on Friday, March 20, 2015 at his residence.

Rickey was born June 3, 1953 in Dalton, to the late George Calvin and Bernice Burnett Whaley; and was also preceded in death by his son, Terry Whaley; brothers, Calvin Jerry Whaley, George Whaley Jr., Gerald Quinn Whaley and Ronnie Lee Whaley; sisters, Shirley Faye Whaley Ledford, Vickey Josephine Whaley Townsend and Patricia Ann Whaley Morrison.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Brenda Gail Whaley of the residence; son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Rebecca Jackson Whaley; brother, Timmie Alen Whaley; sisters, Freda Anita Whaley Mantooth and Dicey Velene Whaley Sroggins all of Chatsworth, GA; and grandchildren, Alexis Sky Whaley, Peyton Bryce Whaley and Madison Brooke Whaley.

Services to celebrate the life of Mr. Rickey Lynn Whaley will be held Sunday March 22, at 2 p.m. from the Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Drew Kirby officiating. Interment will follow in the Oak Hills Baptist Church Cemetery with Peyton Whaley, Ronnie Mulkey, Randy Mulkey Jr., Andy Mulkey, Travis Mantooth, Jeffrey Mulkey and Casey Mantooth serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 22.
