Robert Durham
Robert E. "Bobby” Durham, Jr., (MSG, Ret.), 80, of Lookout Mountain, Georgia, died on Thursday, June 11, 2015 at his residence, surrounded by his family.
Mr. Durham had spent the greater part of his life on Lookout Mountain and retired from the U.S. Army Special Forces (Green Berets) following 20 years of service, having served during both the Korean Conflict and Vietnam. His post-military career was at Combustion Engineering where he worked as a Metallurgist. Following his retirement from Combustion, Bobby enjoyed his life in the outdoors fishing and beekeeping. His love for his church, Lookout Mountain Missionary Baptist, was the highlight of his life. He served with great passion and is now rejoicing in the arms of his heavenly father.
Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, Robert E. and Alice Williams Durham, sister, Hazel Neal, and granddaughter, Amanda Elaine Graham Barker.
Survivors include his children, John Kenneth Durham, Red Bank, Collette and John Thomas, Lookout Mountain, Sophia and Henry Cashwell, Dahlonega, Ga., and Angela and David Pace, Lookout Mountain; sisters, Rosa Lee Veal, Lookout Mountain, Anna Lou Hilton and Shirley Bull, both of East Ridge; brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Suzanne Durham, Ringgold; nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 15, at 1:30 p.m. in the South Crest Chapel with Reverend Alvin Cummings and Reverend Johnny Powell officiating. Burial will follow in the Chattanooga National Cemetery with full military honors.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, June 14, from 2–8 p.m. and Monday from 10 a.m. until the funeral hour at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home & Crematory, at the end of historic Missionary Ridge, Rossville.
