Dr. Ed Boling, Former President Of UT, Dies At Age 93

Dr. Ed Boling, the former president of the University of Tennessee, passed away on Thursday at the age of 93.  Dr. Boling was president from 1970-1988.

“Ed Boling made the University of Tennessee his life, and he contributed immensely to its success," said Senator Lamar Alexander.  "I learned from him and valued his friendship. Honey and I want to express to Carolyn and all the Boling family members our sympathy.”            

Senator Alexander was president of the University of Tennessee from 1988 to 1991.
