41st Swiss Celebration In Gruetli-Laager Is July 25

The 41st Swiss Celebration, sponsored by the Grundy County Swiss Historical Society on the grounds of the Stoker-Stampfli Farm Museum in Gruetli-Laager, Tn., will take place July 25, from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m

Music will be provided under the new pavilion by the Musik Meisters, a group which plays German music in Nashville, and the Bazzania Band, an all female group from Sewanee.

There will be hay rides and buggy rides, tours of the farm house, barn and other out buildings dating back to 1869.  Vendors of food including “Lockharts Barbecue” of Chattanooga, crafts and area organizations as well as displays of old farming tools and accessories. There will be a yard sale, historical documents, and books and memorabilia will be on sale at the membership stand. 

On can become a member and support the preservation of a Swiss farm dating back to 1869 when a group of Swiss immigrants came to America to seek a better way of life. Send donations to P.O. Box 496, Gruetli-Laager, Tn. 37339.
