Upcoming Street Closures Due To Events During Novmeber

Upcoming street closures for events during November: 

Saturday, Nov. 5
Head of the Hooch: Riverfront Parkway will be closed from Molly Lane to Aquarium Way. The Veterans Bridge ramp will also be closed, as will Chestnut Street and Power Alley from Aquarium Way to Riverfront Parkway. Listed roads will close on 10 a.m. on Wednesday and will be reopened at 8 p.m. on Sunday. The Head of the Hooch is one of the world’s largest rowing regattas, with 2,000+ boats racing over two days. Races will be held on Saturday and Sunday.

Normalpalooza: Mississippi Avenue will be closed from Dallas Road to Mount Vernon Avenue from 12 a.m.-7 p.m. Normalpalooza is a fun family day for the North Chattanooga area where the Normal Park Upper School campus transforms into a huge family fairground. 

Reindeer Dash: There will be various closures in and around Hamilton Place Mall from 7-9:30 a.m. This is a family friendly event that begins and ends at Academy Sports + Outdoors and winds through the Hamilton Place shopping complex. The event precedes the annual Santa Arrival parade which takes place the same day at 11 a.m. 

Sunday, Nov. 6
Making Strides Against Breast Cancer: Reggie White Boulevard will be closed from the entrance to
the skate park to 19th Street, as well as W. 19th Street from Reggie White Boulevard to Chestnut Street from 1-3:30 p.m. for this walk. Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk is an opportunity for community members to honor breast cancer survivors, and raise awareness to reduce the risk of getting breast cancer. 

Chattanooga Market: Reggie White Boulevard will be closed from the entrance to the skate park to 19th Street on Sunday from 6 a.m.-8 p.m. The largest producer-only public market in the region. Fresh locally-grown produce, breads, arts and more. 

Saturday, Nov. 12
Autism Awareness Walk: Single lane closures on E. 3rd Street between Walnut Street and High Street and Frazier Avenue between Market Street and the Walnut Street Bridge. The walk benefits The Chattanooga Autism Center, an organization focused on providing lifespan support and services for people with autism spectrum disorders and for their families, serve as an advocacy resource, and to build awareness about autism in our region. 

Saturday, Nov. 19
The Chattanooga Cruise In Toy Drive: Road closures include Chestnut Street between W. 13th Street and Main Street, Fort Street between W. 13th Street and Main Street and W. 14th Street between Chestnut Street and Carter Street from 5 p.m. on Nov. 18 to 2 p.m. on Nov. 19. This event benefits the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots, whose mission is to collect new, unwrapped toys and distribute those toys as Christmas gifts to needy children in the community. 

Monday, Nov. 21
Causeway One Table: MLK Boulevard will be closed from 9 a.m.-2:30 p.m. One Table is Causeway's annual, city-wide Thanksgiving potluck. This is a chance for Chattanoogans to come together and share a meal in the middle of MLK Boulevard at one long table.  

Thursday, Nov. 24
Grateful Gobbler: Part of River Street will be closed from Renaissance Park to Coolidge Park, as well as the westbound lanes of E. 3rd Street between Power Alley and Market Street, along with one southbound lane of Market Street between Frazier Avenue and E. 3rd Street and one eastbound lane of Frazier Avenue between Renaissance Park and the Market Street Bridge. The event benefits the Maclellan Shelter for Families, an emergency homeless shelter located on site at the Community Kitchen on 11th Street in Chattanooga. 

Sports Barn Turkey Trot: Ness Road will be closed, along with a single lane in both directions on Lee Highway between Vance Road and Jubilee Drive, from 7 a.m.-12 p.m. The Turkey Trot benefit helps raise funds for several patient programs offered by The Kidney Foundation of the Greater Chattanooga Area. 

Saturday, Nov. 26 
Hungry Turkey Half Marathon: Lane closures on Veterans Bridge, E. 3rd Street and Walnut Street from 4 a.m.-3 p.m.  This half marathon and 5K benefits Chattanooga Sports Ministries, which seeks to transform the communities of at-risk youth through athletic engagement.
