Emmett Paul Denton, 73, of East Ridge, Tennessee, died on Thursday, November 3, 2016 in a local hospital.

Mr. Denton was born in Chattanooga, on Sept. 15, 1943, to the late Lawrence W. Denton Sr. and Lilly Mae Denton. His favorite hobby was fishing. Mr. Denton delivered newspapers for the Times Free Press in Chattanooga, as well as working for Tri-State Security.

He was preceded death by his parents, Lawrence W. Denton Sr. and Lilly Mae (Parshal) Denton and brother, Lawrence Denton, Jr.

Survivors include his sons, Joshua Paul Denton and Mike Foshay, daughters; Robin Bolge and Michelle Vaughn, brother; William Denton, sister; Florence Atkins and one grandson, Cody Roberts.

Services for Mr. Denton will be held at a later date by the family.

Arrangements are by South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory, at the end of historic Missionary Ridge, Rossville.
