Everett Troy Gilley, 88, of East Brainerd died on Monday, May 2, 2016.

He was a longtime resident to Chattanooga and was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

Mr. Gilley was in the Printing Industry for over 50 years spending most of those years with Arcade Printing Company. He was a member of Brainerd Hills Baptist Church.

Everett was an avid gardener and enjoyed planting fruit trees, growing vegetables and a variety of flowers. He was quite talented with wood crafting, having made many beautiful pieces of furniture for his children. Dad was a people person and believed in treating everyone he met with respect.

Mr. Gilley was preceded in death in 2014 by his loving and devoted wife, Mary Gilley; son, Mark Gilley; parents, Troy and Vera Gilley, and sister, Jessie Ruth Hopkins.

He is survived by his three daughters;  Deborah (Phil) Huddleston, Punta Gorda, FL;  Karen (David) Tatum, Andrews, NC and Kimberly Gilley (Roger Woody), Chattanooga;  grandchildren, Kaitlin Marie Gilley and Jacob Mark Gilley both of Chattanooga;  sister, Martha Gilley Orndoff, Morristown, TN; and brother, Buddy Leon Gilley, Whittier, CA; many nieces and nephews.

Services will be held on Thursday, May 5, at 6 p.m. in the funeral home with Reverend Matthew Vandergriff officiating.  A private family burial will be held on Friday at Hamilton Memorial Gardens.

Honorary pallbearers will be the Charis Sunday School Class of Brainerd Hills Baptist Church.

The family will receive friends from 2-6 p.m. on Thursday at Heritage Funeral Home, 7454 E. Brainerd Road.
