George Smithey, Jr., 84, of Dalton, Georgia, passed away Tuesday, June 28, 2016.
He was the son of the late George Smithey, Sr. and Bertha Patton Smithey; and was also preceded in death by his brother, J.C. Smithey; and his sister, Linda Brown.
George was a veteran of the United States Army.
He is survived by his son, Johnny Smithey of Dalton; sisters, Willie Mae Ledford and Evelyn Roberts both of Dalton; grandchildren, Eric (Kim) Smithey and Blake (Ashley) Smithey; and nieces and nephews..
Funeral services will be Friday, July 1 at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Love Funeral Home with the Rev. Lonnie Starnes officiating. Burial will follow in West Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Love Funeral Home on Friday from 12-2 p.m.
