In Support Of Nick Wilkinson

  • Monday, July 18, 2016
Nick Wilkinson is the best candidate for state senate in District 10. He deserves your vote.

When Nick was director of development for Chattanooga Neighborhood Enterprises, he revealed the heart that he has for individuals, families, and the neighborhoods where they live. For Glenwood, he demonstrated that one needs to work with a number of agencies and levels of government to bring about good for the citizens of a neighborhood. As an agent of CNE, Nick worked with the city council and the county commission as well as the private sector to obtain the land and the equipment for a neighborhood playground.
Over several years he led the CNE effort to identify and award efforts within various neighborhoods throughout Chattanooga. He understood how important it is to celebrate success within neighborhoods of need.

Nick also understands that all dimensions of society must be brought to bear to effect the kind of change a dynamic society needs. As the head of the City of Chattanooga’s Office of Economic Development, he has worked with private industry and Chattanooga Area Chamber of Commerce to provide economic growth which translates into industrial vibrancy and more jobs. His dedication to all sectors can be seen in his involvement with the Bessie Smith Cultural Center and African American Museum.

As a state senator, he will work for equal pay for the same work and for increased access to health care. His commitment to excellence in education for all will drive him to fight for increased funding for the schools of District 10 and for a more just formulation for the distribution of funds.

I encourage you to vote for Nick Wilkinson - that’s Nick Wilkinson - in both the primary and the general election.
