Andre Alexander
Andre Duvall Alexander, 56, died on August 9, 2016 in a local hospital.
Andre graduated from Chattanooga Public Schools and furthered his education with Government Trade School in Pisgah, North Carolina. He was a dedicated employee for Soloff Construction Company.
Andre was a faithful member of Orchard Knob Missionary Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carol Downey and Ted W. Alexander; son, Courie Alexander; sisters, Cynthia Alexander and Grace Alexander Monegan; brothers, Anthony Gilbert, Frederick Smith, Cartress Alexander and Charles Alexander; aunts, Harriett McPherson “Aunt Sis” and Blonzinner Alexander Knox; uncles, Joe Alexander and Albert Alexander; nephew, William Jones; father-in-law, Harvey Clay.
Survivors include his loving and devoted wife, Sherita Alexander; daughters, Charika Alexander, both of Chattanooga, TN; and Sophia Greathouse of Cleveland, OH; son, Tremaine (Laneisha) Alexander; siblings, Deborah (Tyrone) Hall of Montgomery, AL; LaVella (Lawrence Kinchelow) Alexander of Los Angeles, CA and Cassandra (Eric) McElreath of Chattanooga, TN; grandchildren, Faith Alexander, Alvontay Rucker, Desmond Alexander, Quintavia Richards, Nacouridyn Johnson, Courie Alexander, Jr, Couriyanna Princess Alexander, Jadis Alexander and Anthony Sims; aunts, Eloise Oattes and Delia Young of Chattanooga, TN; mother-in-law, Gladys Jones of Chattanooga, TN; brothers and sisters-in-law, Calvin (Judy) Jones of Columbus, Georgia; Roseline Jones,; Ronald (Audrilla) Jones, Chattanooga, TN; Rose Ann (Leonard) Munford, Susan Murray , Vikki Smith and Loretta Smith, all of Chattanooga, TN; Amanda (Terry) Hill, Evans, Georgia and Donnell Monegan of Los Angeles, CA; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 20, at Orchard Knob Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Carlos Williams officiating. Interment will be at Chattanooga Memorial Park.
The body will lie in state after noon on Friday, and the family will receive friends from 7–8 p.m. at John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Ave., 622-9995.
